Directed by Nicholas Kharkongor, film Axone pronounced ‘Akhuni,’ is a satirical comedy dealing with cultural stereotypes. It follows a day in the life of a group of friends from the North-East, living in Delhi. DA 5 BLOODS
A military drama directed by Oscar winning Spike Lee, is arguably one of the most anticipated releases of the year globally. The plot revolves around four Vietnam war veterans who have returned to South-East Asia in search of a promised treasure and are haunted by the memory of their squad leader, Norman played by Chadwick Boseman. As it releases in sync with the ongoing Black Lives Matter Movement, the urgency of this film at this particular moment cannot be denied. Through the film, Lee explores the past injustices faced by African-American soldiers who fought for their country while also simultaneously engaging with the thrilling knockabout rhetoric that characterizes a war drama.
