My Peeking, Red Bra Strap interrogates the cultural politics of concealment and visibility surrounding the female body. In India, the admonition to "hide your bra strap" reflects a deeply rooted patriarchy that polices women's bodies, enforcing a narrative of shame around basic necessities.
Cecilia'ed by Indu Antony
The exhibition explores how such societal dictates shape and constrain the lived experiences of women, reducing their identities to scripted roles. The peeking bra strap becomes a subversive metaphor, symbolizing resistance to systemic attempts to erase or neutralize femininity.

Grounded in the specific cultural fabric of India, yet universally resonant, the featured artworks offer a powerful critique of patriarchal expectations while celebrating the complexities of womanhood. In doing so, they assert that what is often hidden—whether bra straps, desires, or voices—holds the power to disrupt, resist, and redefine.
