I was a security guard on a college campus.

Why do you do what you do?
I do what I do because I’m shit at everything else.

The best thing about being a stand-up comic.
The best thing about being a stand-up comic is that on your most gloomiest day, thousands of people will make you laugh and make you feel better about it.

Your first experience on stage.
When I was five years old, I played a tree in the school play.

What makes life funny for you?
My bulldog, watching great comedians do their work and my books.

The one ritual you can’t do away with?
Eating biscuits before a show, and I like listening to some classical music to calm me down.

What if all your biscuits were taken away from you one day?
I’d eat walnut cake, because cake is biscuits at the top of its potential.

What’s not funny to you?
Censorship.

What cheers you when you’re sad?
Music.

An event from the past that has most influenced you?
I think the world tour I did last year really changed me as a person. It opened my eyes to how many more people there are in the world to make laugh.

Take a walk and listen to good music.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?
Doing an American show. Whiskey Cavalier is my first time with an American production.

The biggest challenge of doing it?
Being away from home for four months.

Your greatest achievement so far...
If I can take the dog for a long walk where he also poops outside.
