Chapter XV: What’s Your Story

Chapter XV of Platform’s What’s Your Story, an event dedicated to showcasing deserving talents and their artistry, took place at The Piano Man in Delhi. These intimate and interactive evenings aim to unite a community with shared sensibilities, presenting them with brilliant talents across various genres in hopes of inspiring all who attend. This edition featured Megha Rao’s intensely beautiful performance poetry, Santanu Hazarika’s stunning visuals, and the intriguing, thought-provoking film Nocturnal Burger by Reema Maya.

Megha Rao
Rao is a confessional performance poet and a surrealist artist. After enchanting people with her poetry performances and book, Teething, Kerala-born writer is ready to captivate wolves (her community of readers) with her new fiction, Our Bones in Your Throat. Set on a college campus in Mumbai, the novel follows Esai’s entry into the college filled with myths, lores, politics, friendship, love and abuse. Ahead of the book release, she performed a few of her evocative poems, which left the audiences snapping in awe. She aso signed copies of the book later at the venue.

Reema Maya
Maya is an internationally acclaimed writer-director and the co-founder of the eclectic Mumbai-based production house Catnip. Her debut short film, Counterfeit Kunkoo, garnered numerous accolades. Maya has directed music videos for prominent artists such as Skrillex, Steve Aoki, Above & Beyond, Nucleya, and Prateek Kuhad. She has also created impactful videos for major brands including Netflix, Uber, Jeep, Tissot, Singleton Whiskey, Bacardi, Breezer, Red Bull, and Budweiser. At the event, she showcased and discussed her powerful short film Nocturnal Burger, which addresses child sexual abuse and female trauma. The film premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and is also featured at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles 2023.

Santanu Hazarika
Santanu Hazarika, a prominent figure in contemporary Indian art, comes from the enchanting landscapes of Guwahati, Assam. As a self-taught artist renowned for his multidisciplinary creativity, Hazarika’s work is characterized by its enigmatic and innovative nature. His evolution from modest beginnings to global recognition is a testament to his relentless drive for artistic exploration and his challenge to traditional artistic boundaries.

Hazarika has exhibited his art worldwide, from the dynamic streets of Mumbai to the remote areas of Siberia. His collaborations with esteemed brands such as Red Bull, Adidas, Reebok, Levi’s, Volvo, Porsche, Dust of Gods, Chivas, Dewar’s, and Harper’s reflect his ability to transcend conventional artistic limits. In the realm of surreal art, he serves as a captivating figure, drawing viewers into his mysterious and extraordinary creations.
