District150

Vivek Narain & Sonya Jehan, the founders of the Quorum Club, had a vision: create a club experience unlike any other. They wanted to build a community of like-minded people who shared a passion for culture, design, and hos- pitality—offer curated experiences that enrich the lives of their members. They wanted to make a mark in the world of private members’ clubs. They achieved all of their dreams with Quorum Club. It came with its share of prob- lems but Vivek & Sonya found new ways to engage with their members and deliver valuable experiences.

One of the most exciting aspects of their jour- ney is the recent opening of District150, a unique space in Hyderabad that’s poised to revolutionise the way we approach office spaces, curated experiences, and events. This marks a significant departure from the traditional model of the Quorum Club, and Vivek is excited to discuss the inspiration behind this evolution.

Quorum and District150 coexist in Hyderabad, both housed in the same location, Vivek mentions. Quorum, a private member’s club, is community-oriented and centred around experience-based hospitality. Its growth potential is limited, with plans for expansion into select cities. The idea behind District150 was sparked by the realisation that Quorum members preferred using the club’s venue for hosting gatherings, large or small, over other alternatives in the city.

District150, is a response to the demand for creatively designed meeting and event spaces. It takes the Quorum’s DNA of design, hospitality and culture programming and offers it on an aÌ€ la carte basis. Vivek explains, “Say you want to have a party; you can come to District150. We have different spaces to cater to different requirements, with entertainment options like live music, technical requirements readily accessible.”

However, District150’s uniqueness extends beyond its versatile spaces and cultural programming. It also seeks to redefine the concept of office spaces by providing an environment that can make a seamless transition from work to play. “We created spaces that can be used for work-related collaboration during the day and transform into hubs for social and cultural engagement in the evening,” Narain elaborates.

The significance of District150 lies in its adaptability to office buildings that are looking to reinvent themselves. It provides a fresh perspective on the use of office spaces. Vivek notes that office buildings are often underutilised, particularly in the evenings. Leveraging this underutilised space as a flexible, pay-per-use resource aligns with evolving work trends. As office spaces worldwide face challenges with growing vacancies, amenities become a crucial factor in revitalising these spaces. District150 capitalises on this trend by offering a dynamic and engaging environment.
