The November EZ presents award-winners across genres. Filmmaker Shonali Bose documents an extremely heart-wrenching act of her friend’s ‘countdown to death’—A fly on the wall. The film is a ‘poetic interpretation’ of her honouring her friend’s last wish. Paul Lynch deconstructs his Booker Prize novel Prophet Song and shares his relationship with the written word. Our Cover Story is Rohit Chawla’s snapshot of Havana, Cuba, a multicultural city filled with colour and vibrancy.

Filmmaker Surya Balakrishnan explores horror genre in her debut film Khauf. Set in a boarding school the film deals with larger issues around women. Anisha Lalvani’s debut novel Girls Who Stray explore themes of ‘modernity, alienation, and the sense of being left behind in an economy that’s moving at a very fast pace’. Elements of crime and thriller can be seen in this coming-of-age story. Studio Arp founded by Alkesh Parmar transforms discarded citrus peels into durable, leather-like materials giving sustainability a whole new layer. Accessory designer turned musician Arpana Rayamajhi brings us a sound that is an amalgamation of punk, jazz, western and other nuances. Her upbringingand passion for music led her to create her world through sound. The penultimate issue of the year promises to engage with interesting stories and talents we present.
