June celebrates power, freedom, and pride in all spheres of life, art, and imagination! Check out some of the interesting Indian queer artists and illustrators we have rounded up for the month.

Aravani Art Project
Aravani Art Project is an Art Collective run by trans and cis women that aims to create a space for members of the transgender community to come together and collaborate on artistic projects. “Aravani Art Project's mission is to bring about change in how the society views the LGBTQIA+ community by advocating the idea of reclaiming spaces in this world through different art projects and raising awareness to create a voice for the community through the Arts.”

Param Sahib
Param Banana aka Param Sahib as he refers to himself on Instagram is a multi-talented Delhi-based illustrator and graphic artist. His illustrations are characterized by recurring themes of a gay Sardar, set against unconventional backdrops.  His work is vibrant, eclectic, and proud! He also has his homegrown label called, Param Sahib Clothing. His collection is punchy, original, and full of flair!

Veer Misra
Veer Misra is a 27-year-old, London-based graphic designer and illustrator. His work is provocative and eye-catching and combines a steady mixture of hyperrealism with surrealistic elements that add to their artistic appeal. He aims to explore various degrees of homosexuality and types of queer identities through his work. 

Aindriya Barua
Also known as @huesonmycanvas on Instagram, this Bangalore-based illustrator and activist is the founder of @shhor.ai, a queer adivasi-led initiative fighting online hate speech against marginalized communities. Their illustrations pertain to patriarchy, casteism, and cis-gendered heternormativity.

Jasjyot Singh Hans
An Indian queer designer and illustrator based out of Chicago. His work primarily concerns themes of body image, sexuality, and self-love. He studied animation film design at the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad and has contributed to Vogue, Elle, Mata Ray comics, and even Sabyasachi designs over the past few years.
