What we’re attending at Lakme Fashion Week

With a change in space and an unexpected lineup, Lakme Fashion Week is back! We’re excited about this confluence of creativity and style, especially from a few designers. The following labels have piqued our interest and have made us stop and listen to their voice of fashion. From the authorities in fashion reinventing themselves to designers making fashion bizarre but inviting to new names under the spotlight, these are the shows Platform will be attending.

Pero
Aneeth is the quiet creative force behind péro and over the years has built a fashion brand that is known for its whimsical design aesthetic. 2024 marks their 15th anniversary and if you observe the goings-on in the atelier, you can safely assume that something absolutely magical is in store for you. ‘Over the course of this past year, we have been working away to bring one-of-a-kind global collaboration to life. One way to describe it would be ICONIC!!’, Pero’s team vouches for it. They only gave us one clue: ‘the collaboration is something we are super proud of at the karkhana and we do think that the wit and whimsy that péro is synonymous resonates perfectly with.’ They reveal everything today also marking the opening of the Lakme Fashion Week.

TIL
We’re excited for TIL to take on the runway as the brainchild behind this, Ankur Verma won the Nexa Spotlight award which had other known faces as nominees. But he came through with a collection that delves into the intricate themes of identity, illusion, and perception through the lens of fashion, inviting audiences to explore the multifaceted layers of the human experience.

Antar-Agni
In its 10th year, Antar-Agni presents TWO-FACED; a collection that redefines the brand’s essence while embracing the duality within us all. Born from a moment of introspection, this collection grapples with change, expectation, and the multifaceted nature of human existence. It is an exploration of contrasts—a dance between structure and fluidity, minimalism and ornamentation, tradition and innovation. TWO-FACED; acknowledges the various faces we wear, the roles we play, and the complexities that define us.

TT is Reinventing Himself
This season gives us a landmark show of one of our favourite designers, Tarun Tahiliani, as he announces the launch of something exciting. Everything is under embargo but trust us when we say that thus marks a significant new chapter in his legacy. It will represent a bold evolution in Tarun’s journey, combining Indian craftsmanship with versatile separates that serve as wardrobe essentials.

Rohit Bal
And finally, the most awaited show at the fashion week is by a renowned designer who we haven't heard from in a long time. Rohit Bal is back! So we trust the sources that tell us that it is going to be a breathtaking showcase, which tells a story through intricate embroidery. This time, the main feature of his collection will be roses. Bal promises a stunning collection that focuses on the celebration of nature, beauty, and fashion. Each piece of his collection will capture the delicate dance of time and transformation.
