August EZ Editorial 2024

There’s much excitement to see what the ‘self-sufficient factory of music and art’, Peter Cat Recording Co. is set out to release after five years on the 9th of August. The acclaimed band is out with BETA, their new album that is personal, universal, and relevant to the times. All set for their 77 date tour, the band deconstructs their album and inspiration. Poet, Rapper and director, Raghav Seth makes his theatrical directorial debut with The Pillowman, a dark comedy by Martin McDonagh. We delve into his creative process and how ‘rhythm, flow and movement’ connects all three art forms. Performance poet Megha Rao has intrigued and captivated us with her beautiful, soulful poetry for years. Extending her artistry to the long form, we catch up with her to learn about her debut fiction Our Bones in Your Throat. Filmmaker Siddharth Jatla’s film, In the Belly of a Tiger, was inspired by a news piece that talked about people sending their parents to the forest to get killed by tigers so they could claim compensation from the government. The ludicrous concept pulled him in to explore the story through filmmaking. We also have debut author Sonali Prasad, who pens a world where human lives intersect with nature in her novel, Glass Bottom. We have many more engaging stories and storytellers to pique your interest.
