The Year That Was 2024: Spotlight

Three transformative spaces that redefine the boundaries of culture, cuisine, craftsmanship, and creativity, from award-winning culinary experiences and immersive art destinations to heritage-rich ateliers and artistic incubators.

NAAR
When describing Naar we would be remiss not to acknowledge that a concept like this finally exists in India. Won’t take our word for it? Just check out hospitality news not just here on the subcontinent. Try the world. Named one of Time Magazine’s best 100 best places (note, not just restaurants) to visit amongst many other accolades, the award-winning Naar is Chef Prateek Sadhu’s celebrated homecoming. Defying to deliver what’s expected, rather working with what they find, Chef Prateek and his team use the climate of the Himalayas and what it produces to craft each of their offerings. Delivering a coursed menu with little room for modifications, the culinary prowess is nothing short of refined. The vibe, however, is just like Chef Prateek himself, relaxed and ready to tell you more than just some words printed on a menu. An excellent combination of thoughtful hospitality and honest food, the approach here has us ready to go back for every time Naar announces a menu change. Still dreaming of the various versions of trout (the dirty toast!), the bamboo ferment, and a brothy noodle dish you’d never believe is Indian before you tried it, we can’t wait to be back again and again. No matter how long the journey might be.
