During the India Art Fair in New Delhi, Soho House hosted an exclusive event titled 'Breathing Room,' bringing together Cities Without Houses (CWH) members from across the globe to connect and celebrate the city’s art scene.

The event, co-curated with the India Art Fair, was designed as a celebration of India’s creative spirit, offering an opportunity to pause and reflect. Held at Anvaya, Mehrauli, a boutique hotel designed by artist Vishal K Dar, the venue served as a tranquil oasis in nature, allowing artists to come together in a space that encourages introspection—echoing the essence of an art practice that thrives on reflection.

A key highlight of the evening was 'Classical Science Fiction', a one-of-a-kind performance led by the renowned tabla player and producer Karsh Kale, along with Grammy-nominated musician Max ZT and maestro Ajay Prasanna. The performance, divided into two 45-minute sets, paid tribute to their mentor Ustad Zakir Hussain and was staged both at sunset and after dark for an unforgettable musical experience.

The night also saw the unveiling of 'Emptying The Void', an art book by Suruchi Choksi, an artist featured in the Soho House Mumbai collection. The book, a poetic exploration of light and darkness, was accompanied by the official 'Breathing Room' journal designed by Soho House member Sumit Roy, which guests took home as a keepsake.

To complement the event, French chef Maxime Montay curated five grazing tables, each inspired by a different wind, continent, and landscape. Guests also enjoyed an array of Soho House signature cocktails, including the Picante, Eastern Standard, Green Out, Soho Mule, and new No and Low drinks from Soho House Mumbai.

Kelly Wardingham, Regional Operations Director for Asia, expressed excitement about growing the CWH membership in India, saying, “This was our first collaboration with the India Art Fair, and we’re thrilled to create more meaningful events for our members in India, whether local or traveling.”
